Muang Sing - Luang Prabang

Publié le par Gaelle, Aisyah, Socheata... what else ?

These mountains - it's China. This giant is just next door, and you can almost feel it...

Laos first and then... Chinese. English is only third. Who said we were close to China ?

Luang Prabang is lovely. Small lanes with old colonial-style houses, wooden-and-stucco building everywhere. Surrounded on two sides by the rivers, it gives the feeling of an island atmosphere - peaceful. At the end of the peninsula : Wat Sirimungkhun. Too small a temple, many people find it's not even worth stopping, they just overlook it while walking by. But I stopped. Because Phra Annesone comes from here.
It's so weird to look at this place and think "some time ago, Phra Son was here... Walking up these stairs, sitting down this bench". Yes, it's definitely a funny feeling...

Another Wat at the end is one of the most famous Wat of the peninsula, being almost a half-millenium old.
