Luang Prabang
My stay in Luang Prabang is over. One day more than what was planned.. Like in Chiang Mai, there's something that... I don't know, it just gets on you and you don't want to leave.
I found a really nice GH, called Nam Sok. The "boss", Mo, is a university student who rushes between his classes and running the GH for the real big boss. He lowered the price to 80.000kip when every other stucks to the 90.000k, gives us bottles of water, makes us pay less than supposed when we go on internet or on a day-trip. And doesn't make the monks pay when they go on internet. Just by this last one, he has all my respect.
Just because of him, my stay was already a really good one. He's always up for some talk, to learn French, to help you understand something. He helped me finding someone to cook the sticky rice for me at 6am, for the alms offering. He made jokes and smiles all the time.
Obviously, if I go back to LP, I know where I will stay :)

The streets of Luang Prabang are just lovely. All quiet as soon as you go down the lanes, lined with old colonial-style French building and golden wats. At every corner, you see a flash of orange, as a novice hurries by to his temple. Tourists are part of it too, but you end up forgetting they are here. Luang Prabang is much worth it, so let's not fuss about it being so touristic.
